Once you pass our four year BASLP course, you can practice as a speech language pathologist or audiologist. The program is affiliated to Bangalore Central University and recognized by Rehabilitation Council of India

- Duration: 6 semesters + 1 year internship
Eligibility Criteria for BASLP
a) The candidate applying for admission to BSLPA course should have passed
10+2 examination or equivalent / two years of Pre-University/Pre-Degree
examination conducted by the Pre University Board of Education of Government
of respective State, and further,
b) The applicant/candidate should have studied:
Physics, Chemistry & Biology / Mathematics / Computer Science / Statistics /
Electronics / Psychology/ Home Science.
c) At the time of entry/admission to the first semester BSLPA course the
candidate should be of age 17 years and there is no upper age limit for admission.
d) Lateral entry to 2nd year of BSLPA is permitted for candidates who meet the
following criteria as per Bangalore University rules:
i) Successfully passed Diploma in Hearing-Language-Speech (DHLS) revised
course from any RCI recognized training institute with Science background as
specified under 3 (b)
ii) Two years of work experience in the field.
iii) A maximum of 3 seats can be admitted on merit basis as supernumerary to
total intake permitted by RCI and respective affiliating University. For candidates
who have successfully passed the pre-revised DHLS course recognized by RCI
with 2 years of work experience, 3 month short course approved by RCI and
entrance test will be the requirement.

Make your career as an audiologist or speech language pathologist
Prepare to become an audiologist. You will learn how to diagnose hearing problems. Your responsibilities will cover fitting of hearing aids, working closely with children having cochlear implants and participating in hearing conservation programs.
Your career as a Speech – Language Pathologists (SLP) involves identifying, assessing and treating communication disorders. You will learn how to tackle speech problems in children and difficulties in speaking that are a result of stroke or head injuries. SLPs also treat stuttering, poor clarity of speech and voice problems as well as manage dyspagia or swallowing disorders.

As per Bureau of Labor Statistics (U.S. Department of Labor), the median annual wage for speech-language pathologists was $71,550 in 2014. Employment of speech-language pathologists is projected to grow 21% from 2014 to 2024, much faster than the average for all occupations.
